G had a seizure this morning 🙁 Super Bummer. It was a little one. We are hoping it was due to the lack a sleep from a couple nights ago when he was wide awake and playing most of the night. OR that since he spit of the medicine out last night. (Both could be logical reasons or just grasping at straws).
My prayer is that it is just 1. Ever since the last episode where we had 20 in one day and ended up in the hospital for 4 days has made us worry about would happen when/if the next seizure came.
Super Bummed about this one this morning for a variety of reasons. We were starting to feel kind of normal again….or new normal.
Bummer!

I don’t live in your shoes but am a little bummed with you. Also a little thankful that it was a little one and that you can logically think of reasons why this could have happened.
Am super impressed that you are able process this with us. Thanks for sharing what you all figure out to be your new normal. Love you all.

I think lack of sleep and lack of meds is a good bet momma. That’s what brings them on in our house. The other thing that immediately jumps to mind is that we just came off Easter weekend….were there jelly beans consumed or other candies with artificial colors in them? I’m not a super radical that thinks the artificial colors necessarily CAUSE these conditions, but I have seen enough evidence in my own household that the i believe artificial colors tend to worsen the frequency and intensity of episodes. I’ll PM you some details.

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement from someone in the trenches! We tried to be careful and not do much easter candy but he did have a few m&m’s last night.

I know we will always question what causes these seizures. For Alaina, we think caffeine could have played a roll (there is caffeine in chocolate too, unfortunately). There was also exhaustion, excitement and heat related with her really long seizure. 2 hours of watching the kids play a new video game in the dark (flashing lights) could have had something to do with her first seizure. Doctors said not likely, but we will always wonder.
I can only begin to imagine what it feels like to be in your shoes. Alaina has been seizure-free for more than 7 months and we are very much enjoying our new normal. I dread the thought of seizures coming back. I’m so sorry you have to go through this. Praying hard!!
